Benton Washington Regional Public Water Authority has the following positions open.

Arkansas, here is your opportunity. The Benton/Washington Regional Public Water Authority has two
(2) new positions that are scheduled to start on, or shortly after, January 3, 2022. Both of these
positions are Full Time (40 hours per week) and the normal work hours are Monday through Friday,
7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Both positions are eligible for Full Benefits after 30 days of employment. These
benefits include Health Insurance, Company Paid Vision, Dental, and Life Insurances, Paid Vacation,
Sick Time, Uniforms, and Company paid training opportunities. After one year of employment,
employees are eligible to participate in the 457 Retirement Plan with matching deposits, and are
eligible for Tuition assistance in pursuing a secondary education courses or degree programs.
Both Positions have minimum requirements as follows: You must be a minimum of 18 years of age and
have a High School Diploma or equivalent. You must currently have a clean driving record and have
reliable transportation. Applicants must be able to attend training classes which may involve overnight
travel and/or attending evening/night courses. All applicants will have a criminal history background
check performed on them, and all applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen test
before any offer of employment is made. Pursuant to Arkansas ACT 593, both positions have been
deemed as Safety Sensitive Positions. Additional job specific requirements can be seen below.
POSITION 1: IT / OT TECH I – An entry level position working, under supervision, on the Authority’s water
treatment plant, distribution system, and other associated facilities. This includes working on system
appurtenances, including but not limited to: pumps, motors, chemical feed systems, treatment plant
instrumentation, plant electrical systems, PLC systems, SCADA systems, and office network systems.
This position has a preference for applicants that have a minimum of one (1) year experience of electrical work
or computer networking experience in a water treatment and distribution system setting, and has had minimum
of thirty (30) hours post High School training applicable to working with one or more of the following: electrical
systems, instrumentation, PLC logic, SCADA systems, or computer network systems. However, additional
training can be provided if needed for the right applicant
The position also requires that the employee must be willing to enroll in an Electrical Apprentice Program,
which will be at the Authority’s cost for tuition and books. This is a 4-year program, in which the employee, at
completion of the coursework, will be qualified to test for their Journeyman Electrical License.
This position also requires that the employee currently have or be able to obtain, a minimum of an Arkansas
Department of Health Level 3 Water Treatment and a Level 3 Water Distribution License within 18 months of
their starting date. All coursework necessary for obtaining the Water Licenses will be paid by the Authority.
Starting pay for this position is $18.00 per hour ($37,440 annually) to $25.00 per hour ($52,000 annually)
depending on experience, training, and current licensing.

POSITION 2: Maintenance Assistant - The Maintenance Assistant is an entry level position for unlicensed
personnel required to maintain the Authority’s Water Treatment Plant, Distribution System, and other
associated facilities. The applicant should have experience with mechanized equipment such as mowers,
weed trimmers, tractors, and operating hand tools. Some maintenance experience on water system
appurtenances, including but not limited to: pumps, motors, chemical feed systems, and treatment plants is
preferred, however; all appropriate training to obtain the necessary licensing to move to the Maintenance
Specialist I position will be provided by the employer. The employee must be able to obtain a minimum of an
Arkansas Department of Health Grade 3 Distribution License within 12 months of their start date.
The starting pay for the Maintenance Assistant is $15.00 per hour ($31,200 annually) to $25.00 per hour
($52,000 annually) depending on experience, qualifications, and current Arkansas Department of Health Water
Operator Licenses.
